My fascination with Costa Rica began in 1986 when I backpacked all four corners and many parts in between. Since that time my wife Elizabeth and I have spent the past 15 years living here where we we raised our 3 children.

Over the years I have rented and purchased properties, imported and purchased cars, imported shipping containers, established businesses, obtained residency, experienced public and private health care, built homes, raised children, lived in three different provinces and our foundation has employed more than 50 Costa Ricans. Needless to say I know the country well!

Apart from Costa Rica’s stunning beauty and friendly culture things do not move as smoothly or in a logical manner that Expats are accustomed to. This can lead to frustration, disappointment and in some cases, serious financial hardships. This is the reason I created this site; to help minimize the challenges moving to, and living in Costa Rica and to help you avoid costly and time consuming mistakes!

Finally, my work with Century 21 Real Estate is based on the Central Pacific Coast and my knoweldge and professional experience began in the U.S. where I was a Top Producer and served on both the Realtor Ethics Committee as well as two terms on a Realtor Board of Directors.

I surround myself with excellent Costa Rican attorneys, escrow agents, builders and property managers that hold the highest standards of knowledge, professionalism and integrity. I cannot adequately stress the value of having these people to handle your transactions.
